Have you wished you had the skills an eye catching business card? Have you wanted to create invitations for your child’s birthday that go beyond changing the font type, size, and color? In this introduction to Graphic Design, you will be guided through the steps of the design process from your first inklings of a brilliant idea to a final piece. Explore what graphic design is, how you use it to communicate, and how you can incorporate personal style. Bring your laptop, work with Adobe Illustrator and get step by step guidance beginning with an overview and then working on lessons that will gradually advance your skill level while you gain confidence with the computer and a creative tool. Create logos, professional type effects, airbrush effects, and color control, as well as learn what composition and typography are and how they are important aspects of design. Whether putting your new skills to use in the home or office, your newly dynamic designs will be eye-catching and professional! Bring a laptop and the art center will introduce you to a trial version of Illustrator if you don’t already have it.
