Stuart Rome: Drawn from Nature
January 29-March 27, 2010
Gallery 339 is pleased to present an exhibition by Stuart Rome. Rome has spent several years shooting the natural world, and his newest series focuses on the patterns he has discovered in fossil records and animal tracks. His work is rooted in abstraction, and despite the photographic process, the imagery seems to resemble some kind of obsessive drawing. Additionally, in this new body of work he has experimented by digitally printing on silver leaf and then mounting to printmaking paper. The exhibition will open at Gallery 339 the evening of Friday, January 29th, with a reception from 6-8 pm.
