In September 2009, Julie Jenney, Educational Programs Coordinator, traveled with 19 Scott Associates to the island of Martha’s Vineyard to explore private and public gardens, natural areas, charming towns, and quaint fishing villages. Images will be seen from her initial scouting trip – a year prior where she managed to get some shots in the pouring rain, and from the September 2009 trip in beautiful sunshine. The Lunchtime Lecture series is an informal way to share what has been seen and discovered in various gardens and natural spaces both in the United States and abroad. Bring a bag lunch and join staff and guests of the Scott Arboretum for a visual tour of their travels to beautiful places. Free and open to the public, the series is held from Noon to 1 pm in the Lang Performing Arts Center Cinema at Swarthmore College. Contact the Scott Arboretum Offices at 610-328-8025 for more information and parking instructions.
