Lunchtime Lecture: Some Mordern and Classic, Famous and Obscure French Gardens in Normandy, France
February 24, 2010
On a week-long visit to Normandy, France in August 2009, Claire Sawyers, Director, had the chance to visit a wide variety of gardens, and was delighted by not only the number of gardens in the region open to the public, but also the modern residential gardens that contrast with the classic French gardens we all know so well. The Lunchtime Lecture series is an informal way to share what has been seen and discovered in various gardens and natural spaces both in the United States and abroad. Bring a bag lunch and join staff and guests of the Scott Arboretum for a visual tour of their travels to beautiful places. Free and open to the public, the series is held from Noon to 1 pm in the Lang Performing Arts Center Cinema at Swarthmore College. Contact the Scott Arboretum Offices at 610-328-8025 for more information and parking instructions.
