Lunchtime Lecture: An Armchair Tour of China
February 11, 2010
Shari Edelson (2007-08 Curatorial Intern for the Scott Arboretum) and Keelin Purcell are proud to present an armchair tour of China! In June 2009, Longwood Graduate Program4 Fellows Shari and Keelin spent three weeks touring botanical gardens and cultural institutions throughout China. Their travels were part of the International Experience component of the Longwood Graduate Program. This trip took them all across the eastern half of China and included ten botanical gardens and such destinations as the Great Wall, bustling Shanghai, and the lush Southern tropics. The Lunchtime Lecture series is an informal way to share what has been seen and discovered in various gardens and natural spaces both in the United States and abroad. Bring a bag lunch and join staff and guests of the Scott Arboretum for a visual tour of their travels to beautiful places. Free and open to the public, the series is held from Noon to 1 pm in the Lang Performing Arts Center Cinema at Swarthmore College. Contact the Scott Arboretum Offices at 610-328-8025 for more information and parking instructions.
