LECTURES & LITERATURE

Lunchtime Lecture: Midwestern Gardens and Botany
January 28, 2010
Join Andrew Bunting, Curator, for the 5,000 mile journey he made through the Midwest in the summer of 2009. Along the way he visited the Bernheim Arboretum in Kentucky; the Missouri Botanical Garden10; stopped to photograph the alpine flora at Independence Pass, traversed the Kansas and Nebraska plains and paid a visit to the Millenium Park11 in Chicago to see how the prairie-esque Lurie Garden 12 has matured. The Lunchtime Lecture series is an informal way to share what has been seen and discovered in various gardens and natural spaces both in the United States and abroad. Bring a bag lunch and join staff and guests of the Scott Arboretum for a visual tour of their travels to beautiful places. Free and open to the public, the series is held from Noon to 1 pm in the Lang Performing Arts Center Cinema at Swarthmore College. Contact the Scott Arboretum Offices at 610-328-8025 for more information and parking instructions.
