Presented by The Philadelphia Joke Initiative with support from Freefall Productions. Meet Cecily and Gwendolyn, two slightly mad Victorian time travelers and self-proclaimed social anthropologists. Imagine their surprise when, upon return from their latest hot air balloon excursion through time, they discover... you! In this completely improvised, two-person, audience-interactive extravaganza, Cec and Gwen discover new civilizations and boldly go where no self-respecting Victorian woman would ever dare!

      Saw Cecily and Gwendolyn over the weekend. The show is a good mixture of acting ability and improv. Getz and Jennings are flexible and comfortable improvisers who did a good job of engaging the crowd and working with the material the audience provided. Despite adopting British accents there was no 'forced' feeling to the performance. The show meandered a bit from lack of an overarching plot, but it's improv so it could be quite different next time. Definitely worth checking out; venue's cool too. Collapse

      This production is lovely. It lives in the magical spot between improv and theatre. The performers are charming and inviting, and they play off each other and the audience with such enthusiasm and wonder. The production is simple yet elegant, understated yet moving. Each night is different (it is improvised after all), but the night I went it ended on such a sad but beautiful note. Kudos to PJI and Cec and Gwendolyn!!! Collapse

      This production is lovely. It lives in the magical spot between improv and theatre.
