Drag queen Divine (code name “Babs Johnson”), who lives in a trailer park with her demented mother and son, engages in a hilariously atrocious contest with an upper-class couple for the title of “filthiest person alive.” The incendiary cult classic takes depravity to a whole new level. Rated NC-17. Bryn Mawr Film Institute presents Pink Flamingos in celebration of filmmaker John Waters' visit to Bryn Mawr College on March 26th. A man once referred to by William Burroughs as “The Pope of Trash,” Waters’ films have sparked controversy, but have also earned him a cult following among cineastes and popular audiences alike.
