The magic of the holiday season comes to life on stage as Pennsylvania Ballet and PNC Arts Alive present George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker, the most beloved holiday tradition for families throughout the Philadelphia region. Pennsylvania Ballet, one of the premier ballet companies in the nation, is proud to perform this timeless production, now in its 41st year. Steeped in tradition yet revitalized by stunning new sets and costumes in 2007, George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker is sure to charm young and older audiences alike. No other production matches its majesty.

During the December 26-31 performances, Phillyfunguide will present Turn Your Cell Phone On!, a live polling service that will allow attendees to text instant responses to questions about the performance direct from their cell phones. The answers will be displayed live at the Academy of Music, as well as online at both www.Phillyfunguide.com and www.paballet.org. Turn Your Cell Phone On! is an initiative of the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance and is funded through the PNC Arts Alive grant initiative.
