The Philadelphia Art Alliance is ecstatic to announce the return of the wildly popular Connoisseur Series! The first concert features current Academy of Vocal Arts residents Taylor Stayton and Steven LaBrie; presenting a concert of solos and duets from the opera and Broadway stages. Taylor Stayton is currently a third year resident artist at The Academy of Vocal Arts. During his residency there he has performed a number of roles including Ernesto in Donizetti’s Don Pasquale, Percy in Donizetti’s Anna Bolena, and Ferrando in Mozart’s Cosi Fan Tutti. In the fall of 2009 he will add the role of Fenton in Verdi’s Falstaff to his repertoire. Steven LaBrie, a native of Dallas, Texas, is currently a fourth year resident artist at the Academy of Vocal Arts. During his residency, he has performed roles such as Malatesta in Don Pasquale, Guglielmo in Così Fan Tutti, Kuligan in Kát’a Kabanová, Baron Duphol in La Traviata, Fiorello in Il barbiere di Siviglia, and the Captain in Eugene Onegin. This past spring, Mr. LaBrie was awarded First Place in the Dallas Opera Guild Vocal Competition.
