Add Review/CommentErin McKeown has packed a ton of music into a substantial career. With 6 albums, 2 EPs, and numerous soundtracks and compilations to her credit, the 31-year-old songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer hasn't stopped for a breather in the last 10 years. Along the way she has averaged 200 shows a year and garnered the praise of fans and critics alike.
McKeown's latest project is a brand new full length album of original songs, due in the fall of 2009. Produced by Sam Kassirer and mixed by Brian Deck, Erin's latest will continue in her unique tradition of fresh and unusual music. Meanwhile, she's begun to step out as an in-demand side player. This year she'll also be contributing regularly to her ongoing writing projects including blogs, essays, and poems.
Jill Sobule belongs to a rare breed of artists. Her work is at once deeply personal and socially conscious, seriously funny and derisively tragic. Over five albums and a decade of recording, the Denver-born songwriter/guitarist/singer has tackled such topics as the death penalty, anorexia, shoplifting, reproduction, the French resistance movement, adolescence, and the Christian right. Did we mention love? Love found, love lost, love wished for and love taken away.
