    By Kennedy Center award-winning playwright Melinda Lopez, "...Hope..." inspires youngster via the story of Frederick Douglass, a former slave who taught himself to read & became a brilliant writer/orator. He said, "On the day I learned to read, I was free." Also covered is teen star athlete Peter Hams (who overcame dyslexia) and Marta Gonzales (an immigrant who learned to read as an adult in English, her second language.
