First Friday Manual Science: Carnivorous Plants

CHF, The Chemical Heritage Foundation brings carnivorous plants back to the museum by popular demand. Monthly "Manual Science" First Friday programming will feature Martha Miller, educator and carnivorous plant expert, and Joe Rucker, a chemist and local carnivorous plant enthusiast, who will be sharing their terrarium-enclosed insect eaters, as a tie-in to sLowlife, an exhibit on display at CHF through the end of 2009 that focuses on the secret life of plants. Making Modernity, the museum's permanent exhibit, will also be open. First Friday event November 6, 5-8 pm. with feedings at 6:15 pm and 7:15 pm. More information: www.chemheritage.org. Museum hours: Monday-Friday, 10 am-4 pm; First Fridays 5-8 pm. Free admission.
