Los Lonely Boys (guitarist Henry Garza and his siblings, bassist Jojo and drummer Ringo, Jr.) hit the ground running in 2003 with their triple-platinum self-titled debut release, winning a Grammy for its No. 1 global hit Heaven (Best Pop Performance with Vocal). No one-hit wonders, the Boys cemented their place as one of the decade’s most acclaimed new arrivals in rock with 2006’s Sacred and last year’s Forgiven. Their influences are legion, ranging from Buddy Guy and Stevie Ray Vaughan to mentors Santana and Willie Nelson, but in the end, it’s about brotherhood—all three members of this Texican trio give the group musical dynamics and vocal harmonies that can only come with genetic bonds.

Alejandro Escovedo has journeyed through several musical incarnations in his 20-plus-year career from punk rock (The Nuns) to string quintets to alternative country (Rank & File). After forming True Believers with his brother, Javier, he has pursued a solo career since 1992, starting with the release of Gravity and followed by seven more CDs culminating in last year’s Real Animal, which wound up on many a Top Ten list.
