Come watch a performance by the Tewa Dancers from the North, a traditional Native American dance troupe from the Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo (“Place of the Strong People”) in Northern New Mexico. The group is led by Andrew Garcia, founder and director of the troupe, former Governor of the pueblo, and a respected elder. The troupe’s dance is considered a prayer and a duty, performed to help the seasons flow and to bring harmony to the universe. Great for families! Co-sponsored by the Center for Native American Studies.
