XPN Welcomes The John Lilley Project
October 3, 2009
John Lilley is stepping out on his own with killer band and a brand new solo album “Lucky Kinda Guy” filled with deeply personal and accessible songs; a unique and skillful blend of tender love songs and muscular roots-rock reflecting his optimism all delivered with his stylized voice and road-honed guitar chops. This new adventure began a few years ago when a microphone got plugged in late one night and a sleeping storyteller awoke with a lot to say.
Lilley has been a part of the Philly music scene since the early 80’s as guitar slinger in two of the city’s most exciting bands, Robert Hazard and for the past 25 plus years with The Hooters. He’s toured the world extensively participating in such historic events as the Live Aid Concert in Philadelphia and The Wall Concert in Berlin. This evening will be the first of his concerts in downtown Philly and not to be missed.
