The history of Thanksgiving is an interesting tale. The very first national “Thanksgiving Day,” established on November 26, 1789, was created by George Washington for “giving thanks” for the U.S. Constitution, which had been adopted two years earlier. During the Center’s celebration, children can participate in the Growing Up, American Style show at 12 pm and 2 pm to discover what it was like to grow up in America throughout different time periods. Kids will find out what children wore throughout the ages by dressing in costume for a special runway show!
