Nuremberg: The Nazis Face Their Crimes
November 10, 2009
Filmmaker/historian Christian Delage condenses John Ford's original footage of the Nuremberg trial, held six months after the close of WWII. With much drama, red tape and procedural matters, the film exposes the matter-of-factness and lack of reaction from the SS defendants when confronted with the slaughter of innocents. Narrated with elegance by Christopher Plummer, the film revisits the historical moment when no punishment could fit the hugeness of the crime. With: Herman Goering, Rudolf Hess, Budd Schulberg, and Robert H. Jackson. In French with English subtitles.
