The Gift To Stalin
November 5, 2009
The gorgeous cinematography of the Kazakhstan steppes and the exotic ethnographic interest of The Gift to Stalin contrasts with the ugliness of small town corruption during Stalin's regime in this story of an orphaned Russian Jewish boy who is rescued by an elderly Kazakh widower in 1949. In Russian, Kazakh and Hebrew with English subtitles.
