Birding at Black Rock
December 19, 2009
Join Black Rock Sanctuary for a morning outing to explore the meadows and wetlands of this unique site along the Atlantic Flyway. Come out and see the winter birds. This walk expects winter sparrows, raptors, and waterfowl. Learn about fine-feathered friends that inhabit the wetland and meadow areas and those who just stop-by for a visit. Instructor: Vincent Smith, Naturalist/Valley Forge Audubon. Black Rock Sanctuary, meet in parking lot. Black Rock Sanctuary is located on Route 113 between Riverwalk Drive and Winding River Boulevard at 953 Black Rock Road, which is about 1 ½ miles north of Phoenixville. Please note that many GPS units will direct people to the wrong location. Detailed directions are available at: http://dsf.chesco.org/ccparks/blackrock.
