For nearly two decades, the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet has brought its unique vision of classical intelligence and western ingenuity to the world of dance. Applauded at such venerable venues as Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival and the Kennedy Center and praised by the New York Times as “a breath of fresh air,” the pioneering troupe makes its Kimmel Center debut. Sue’s Leg, choreographed by Twyla Tharp, is a reconstruction of the 1975 ballet inspired by 1930s dancehalls, with music by Fats Waller. Choreographed by Jorma Elo, Red Sweet is set to music by Vivaldi and Biber.
