Champagne toasts, sweetly-fragranced camellias and lush soirees fill the glittering salon of famed courtesan Violetta Valéry, the belle of Parsian nightlife. Enter Alfredo, a handsome young nobleman who looks at her one evening with the unmistakable and unapologetic bloom of love. Nothing will ever be the same as their romance deepens before the eyes of his disapproving father, testing their hearts, their character and the bonds of true love. Verdi's ultra-romantic masterpiece is a visual and musical tour de force featuring rapturous arias and swelling choral works, set against the richly costumed elegance of the Opera Company's original, period production. Sung in Italian with English translations.
