EgoPo's year-long celebration of Samuel Beckett continues with this imaginative and unique staging of arguably the most important play in modern theater. EgoPo's staging of Waiting for Godot utilizes rarely seen revisions to the original script that Beckett made himself when working on the play in Germany. This leaner version helps the play move with the rapid comic pace Beckett so desired. EgoPo has cast an ensemble of actors in their early to mid thirties to bring to life the infamous tramps. By seeing performers who are in "mid-life," the weight of the waiting that has already occurred is heavy, but the sense of how much longer they must wait stretches out just as far. Our version tresses the love that exists between the characters and is a tender and comic version that will entertain you whether you are a Beckett snob or brand new to his work
