Art Deco, popular early 20th century style, is an architectural style synonymous with the Jazz Age. On this walking tour you will have one foot in the past and one foot in the future. Its sleek appearance foretells the debut of Modernism while its use of Mayan and Aztec motifs echoes the past. During this walking tour, our professional guide will point out the amazing Art Deco sites in Philly while detailing its importance in our city's history. Among Philadelphia's outstanding examples featured on this walk is the flamboyant WCAU Building on the 1600 block of Chestnut Street, now home to the Art Institute of Philadelphia. This walking tour is a great way to truly appreciate the architecture and history of Philadelphia. This event will begin at the entrance to Liberty Place, NE corner, 17th and Chestnut Streets in Philadelphia. Details subject to change without notice.
