Dolce Suono Commissions and the Art They Inspire
April 14, 2010
This event, co-presented with Moore College of Art and Design, includes a Concert, conversation, and student exhibition. This is the culmination of a season-long project, in which Moore College student artists created artworks inspired by the works of two composers commissioned by the Dolce Suono Chamber Music Concert Series, Charles Abramovic and Benjamin C.S. Boyle. The Dolce Suono Trio - Mimi Stillman, flute; Yumi Kendall, cello; and Charles Abramovic, piano will perform music of Haydn, Barber, Abramovic, and Boyle. Musicians, composers, student artists, and art historians will engage the audience in a conversation about the project, and the artworks will be exhibited. Dolce Suono engages the audience in chamber music at a profound level through innovative, dynamic programming spanning Baroque to contemporary music, talks and panel discussions by performers, scholars, and guest composers, and post-concert Meet-the-Artists.
