CLASSES & WORKSHOPS

Photographic Vision I for Teenagers Digital
September 25-November 20, 2009
Digital images are created and displayed on our computers in vast quantities and with constantly accelerating speeds. In this class you will take a step back from this frenzied process and focus on what goes into making a photograph distinct and compelling. Using whatever digital camera is available to them, students will create images utilizing techniques of proper exposure, principles of composition, understanding of lighting, and use of subject matter. Emphasis in this class is on the development of the student's self-expression and the creation of a digital portfolio. The computer will be used only to edit and minimally process images. Basic understanding of photography is not required. Basic understanding of MAC is helpful, but not required. This class will run for eight, three hour sessions. Class time will be split between lecture, shooting, and lab time. Students will also be required to frequently shoot assignments after class for discussion the following day.
