THEATRE

Doubt, a Parable
March 25-April 10, 2010
Sister Aloysius, the principal of a Catholic school in the Bronx, thinks it is entirely in the order of things that the students in her school are terrified of her. Father Flynn, her new teacher, thinks a school should be ruled by love, not fear. Young Sister James, caught in the power struggle between the two, is torn between her duty to her superior and her sympathy for the priest's beliefs; but she is also tormented by doubts about the behavior of the priest's favorite student. This crackling psychological drama swept the Drama Desk Award, Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize for best new play.
