Bring the gang, picnic, and blanket to watch the whimsical Popeye feature film starring Robin Williams at Independence Seaport Museum's "Seaport Starlight Cinema" outdoor amphitheater. It will be madcap mayhem with audience participation a la The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Come dressed as your favorite Popeye character, such as Popeye, Olive Oyl, Bluto, Swee'pea, Wimpy, Poopdeck Pappy or any of the cartoon's characters, and compete in a contest for the rare and coveted Golden Can of Spinach Award! Audience members will be given fun "props" to interact with the movie, including green confetti to throw at the sight of spinach, bubbles to blow when Popeye smokes his pipe, kazoos to play during songs, and more. Plus, enjoy free popcorn, trivia contests, awards, give-aways, and a life-size Popeye cutout to pose with -- bring your camera! Doors open at 7 pm; movie begins at sunset. The special exhibit "Skin & Bones -- Tattoos in the Life of the American Sailor" will be open for pre-movie tours. Look for Popeye and his famous anchor-tattooed arms in the exhibit. In the event of rain, movie will be shown under tented balcony overlooking the Delaware.
