Need a little laughter in your life? How about a lot? Fräulein Maria is a tour-de-force comedy for the ages you won’t want to miss. Enjoying numerous sold-out runs in New York, it’s Rodgers and Hammerstein’s complete soundtrack and story from The Sound of Music as seen through the brilliant mind of Doug Elkins, New York’s downtown answer to Robin Williams. Featuring a bevy of star performers including Elkins himself and a tribute to great choreographers, Elkins wreaks havoc on this classic musical with vaudeville gags and hip-hop moves, yet keeps the story and charm intact. B-Boy maven Doug Elkins and his stellar troupe deconstruct and reinvent this beloved 1965 standard into an edgy yet fun-loving, gender-bending, cabaret romp. These performances are part of the Dance Celebration Series, presented by Dance Affiliates and Penn Presents.
