Southeastern Pennsylvania Coast Day
September 20, 2009
Southeastern Pennsylvania Coast Day is a free celebration featuring family-oriented entertainment and hands-on activities offered by many of the region’s hardest-working environmental groups. Music, prizes, and Ride the Ducks boat rides will be available free of charge to hundreds of visitors as they explore the sensitive coastline in their own backyard (supplies limited). That’s right, Philadelphia has a coast. Once families have made their way through the festival, as well as the Independence Seaport Museum next door (special $5 admission), a free afternoon shuttle will be on hand to take them to the Fairmount Water Works Interpretive Center. Guests can also ride the RiverLink Ferry to the nearby Adventure Aquarium (normal rates apply). Altogether, these attractions make for a full day of marine-themed family fun.
