The Rip Chords with The Sharkskins
August 21, 2009
The Rip Chords are known for their 1964 million-seller smash hit Hey Little Cobra. Today, the band includes original 60's members Richie Rotkin and Arnie Marcus, along with Mitch Schecter, Freddy Brog, and Bobby Scammell. They currently have two new CDs on the Collectables Records Label called Shut 'Em Down Again and The Rip Chords...Now. From the briny deep, comes the tri-state area's premier surf/spy band, the Sharkskins! Da 'Skins are a group of individuals summoned by the spirit of the great Watusi Tuna Kahuna, the Pacific Rim god of surf and dance to go forth and bring sounds inspired by his greatness to the East Coast. Come and feel the power, the fury of the reverb-drenched sound of da 'Skins.
