To celebrate the opening of Cruiser Olympia’s newly restored pilot house and bridge deck – which have been closed to the public for two years – climb aboard the world's oldest steel floating ship, get your "enlistment papers," and proceed through stations to learn about sailors’ uniforms, the crew’s quarters, basic seamanship duties, and the ship itself. Along the way, make a sailor’s hat, victory pennant, and “Save the Olympia” pins, and try your hand at rolling a sleep hammock and tying nautical knots.

The Living History Crew of the Olympia, clad in period sailors’ uniforms, will give tours, presentations detailing the life of a sailor, and conduct gun drills. And, as always on the first Saturday of every month, there will be special behind-the-scenes tours of Olympia and the WWII Submarine Becuna.
