Since 1998 ICA's Open Video Call has been an opportunity to see new works on video with a focus on Philadelphia-based artists and filmmakers. Selected from over one-hundred submissions, the 2013 program brings together diverse sensibilities, though many share a penchant for found footage, dreamy visuals, and atemporality.

Open to artists everywhere, OVC is always loaded with local talent, and this year is no exception. Current and former Philadelphians Kristin Grey Apple, John Crowe, Carl Marin, Danial Nord, and Jess Perlitz are joined by Ben Bigelow, Janne Höltermann, and Darcy Van Buskirk.

OVC was juried by artist Kara Crombie, artist and director of The Nicola Midnight St. Claire Matt Kalasky; ICA Assistant Curator Kate Kraczon; and Will Schmenner, PhD candidate, Art History, University of Pennsylvania. Initially presented as a one-night screening hosted by the Dufala Brothers this past Halloween, the twenty-six minute program will play continuously in ICA’s Ramp Space during the winter exhibition season.
