LECTURES & LITERATURE

Great Poems of the 20th Century Translated By Students
December 5, 2012
Come hear poems by the most beloved poets of Italy, Korea, Chile, Germany, France, Poland, Brazil, China, and Russia--read in both their original language and in brand new and beautiful translations. The most famous poems by Rilke, Neruda, Rimbaud, Akhmatova, Mistral, Yun Dong-ju, Leopardi, and others have been brought into English by students at Penn who will each read a poem and (DON'T MISS THIS) cook a delicacy from their hometown or country--be it Brazilian pastries, Sicilian pasta, or ham biscuits from rural Virginia--for the potluck celebration we'll have afterward. All welcome to the feast of poems and the feast of food.
