Poetik Blues: A Sistah's Story
November 17, 2012
Poetik Blues: A Sistah's Story combines the spoken word, poetry, music and dance to illuminate issues that African American women face during the course of their lives, and particularly the feelings, often suppressed, that can give a woman the "blues".
From the brutality of slavery to the moodiness of menopause, Poetik Blues explores deep rooted issues that have challenged women throughout centuries. Written in the first person and fused with original songs, this emotional journey of words, music and movement will enlighten, heal and uplift the mind, spirit and soul!
