    Ruth Pfeffer
    Expert Birder and Trip Leader

Join local birding enthusiast Ruth Pfeffer for a trip to Green Lane Park located in western Montgomery County. The park is nearly 3,000 acres and contains an 800-acre lake. Diverse habitats make the park an important stopping off point for migrating wildfowl. In addition to the lake there are woodlands, conifer plantations, fallow fields, and a shallow marsh/meadow. We hope to see a variety of ducks and raptors. We will make a number of stops within the park including the bird blind and the Church Road Nature Center, which houses a variety of interesting bird exhibits. Novice or experienced birders are welcome. The trip includes van transportation from the Arboretum. Lunch will be at a nearby restaurant but the cost is not included in the trip fee. Bring binoculars and a water bottle. We will meet at the Arboretum and travel by van. Park in the meadow next to the Arboretum entrance kiosk.
