Support the Schuylkill River Heritage Area on Saturday September 22, with a round-trip bike ride along the Schuylkill River Trail from Pottstown to Birdsboro. Ride includes optional walking tours and a presentation about the railroad upon whose right-of-way the trail is built.

This is the first ride in the Schuylkill River Trail Bike Tour Series, a new multi-year series being organized by the Schuylkill River Heritage Area. Each event will feature a unique combination of biking and history. This year cyclists will learn about the history of the Pennsylvania Railroad and take an 18-mile, round-trip ride along the trail from Pottstown to Birdsboro. There, they’ll be given a guided walking tour of Birdsboro’s historic sites. Also being offered is a 20-mile option with no walking tour and a 9-mile ride with tour of Morlatton Village’s four 18th century buildings.

Rides begin at Pottstown’s Riverfront Park at 9 a.m. Cost is $25 per person; $20 members; $15 children 11-15; children 10 & under free. After Sept 5, late fee applies. Refreshments offered at two areas along the route.
Register by September 5 to receive a free T-shirt!!! Register online at http://railsnrivertownsride.eventbrite.com or call 484-945-0200.
