Mother Tongue (staged reading)
August 26, 2012
In FJ Hartland's play, Bertie is a Seattle standup comic telling the world’s worst jokes. Her son is getting reluctantly involved with Cale, who recites the periodic table and succession of British monarchs while having sex. As Bertie heads to New York and the proverbial stuff hits the fan, the uproarious comedy turns touching as all three learn to let go of the “ghosts” they carry around.
