Visit West Laurel Hill Cemetery on Sunday, July 8th for a unique, first-time event featuring representatives from the Athletic Base Ball Club of Philadelphia who will lead a presentation introducing “the sociable and well-played game that defined 1864 base ball.” As a warm-up for the afternoon’s authentically vintage match, learn about the history of the club, the history of nineteenth century base ball and the uniforms and equipment employed during the same era in which West Laurel Hill Cemetery was founded, nearly 145 years ago!

The presentation will be followed by a tour of renowned base ball players interred at West Laurel Hill Cemetery including Harry Wright and the Shibes. The double-header vintage base ball match will follow the tour.

The presentation takes place at 11 am inside Bringhurst Funeral Home on the grounds of West Laurel Hill Cemetery, 225 Belmont Avenue, Bala Cynwyd. The vintage, double header match begins at 1 pm at the Bala Cynwyd Playground directly across from West Laurel Hill Cemetery.
