Ramadan Dinner Tent

Three-day Tent Event that will take place on Market Street between 5th and 6th in the Center City, Philadelphia. The month of Ramadan (in Islamic Calendar) is when Muslims fast, and at the same time, remember their role in their communities as providers for the poor and the people in need. In the month of Ramadan, Dialogue Forum and Peace Islands Institute encourage participation of their members in community service and organize events to promote a better understanding of Islam and Muslims. They do this by organizing and sponsoring "Iftar" dinners, special fast-breaking dinner for Muslims at the end of a day of fasting. In the past, they have organized Iftar dinners at local churches or synagogues to extend Ramadan experience to their communities. In the last few years, they carried these activities to the general public in an area that is open to everybody in Philadelphia.

Visitors will also have a chance to see the Islamic Arts exhibition, video presentations, and to join other fun and cultural/educational activities.
