Russian Opera Workshop presents its second annual free concert series at Academy of Vocal Arts. Participating opera artists arrive to Philadelphia from across the United States, Canada, Mexico and Russia. During the month of June, the vocal artists, pre-selected by an audition process, will study opera roles and the Russian language, and sing in vocal master classes in preparation for their public performances.

The Rachmaninoff Songs Concert (Monday, 6/25 only) features lecture on Alexander Pushkin's The Gypsies by professor Ilya Vinitsky, University of Pennsylvania Slavic Languages & Literatures Department. The ALEKO production includes a small chorus, comprised of singers from Philadelphia choral groups. All performances are sung in Russian with English supertitles. Ghenady Meirson, Music Director and Pianist.

Select Master Classes with leading voice coaches and conductors (June 7th-18th) are also free and open to the public. For full schedule visit russianoperaworkshop.com.
