Douglas Sirk’s classic melodrama pairs Jane Wyman and Rock Hudson in a lush tale of forbidden love between a New England widow and her gardener.
The Mad Men connection: Housewife Betty Draper, continually plagued by oppressive societal pressures, might relate.
