Throughout the Victorian Age, brother and sister John and Lydia Morris searched the world over gathering a stunning array of plants and trees to enhance their Chestnut Hill Estate. This summer they return (played by two modern actors) to lead a unique and fascinating theatre program for children (ages 5-10).

On the very grounds they developed, the Morrises meet the children and recount fascinating stories of their adventurous travels. As they spin their tales, the children take on the elements of the story; with simple props and costumes the young performers become the trees, flowers, streams and animals, acting out the creation of Morris Arboretum.

This delightful program allows children to become a part of the beauty and history of Morris Arboretum. It is a fun-filled learning tool and a marvelous way to enjoy a summer evening on our enchanting grounds.

The children meet the Morrises at 6:30 pm. Over the next hour, the children learn their parts, while the parents enjoy a stroll through the grounds. At 7:3 0pm there is a performance for the families and all the Arboretum visitors.
