"Best Live Act", "Best Hip Hop Group" and "Best Horn Section" are just a few of the accolades bestowed upon the 7-member collective known as Fat Daddy Has Been from media outlets all over Delaware, Philadelphia and South Jersey. No newcomers to the music scene, the name Fat Daddy Has Been was in fact coined because all seven members are seasoned musicians that have an extensive body of work behind them, most notably their frontman Marchitect who, as a member of the wildly popular group The 49ers, has enjoyed the total sales of 6 million records total in the Japan market and a #1 hip-hop song on iTunes. Consisting of a drummer, bass guitarist and a 3-piece horn section in addition to Marchitect's vocals, Fat Daddy Has Been has been touring and releasing records for six years; recently releasing their third independent album, Cannot Kill My Music, which features cameos from Dice Raw (The Roots) and The Last Emperor. Their live show is the real draw and is not to be missed. Their effortless mash-up of genres blend easily under Marchitect's smooth voice and lyrics, while the horn section punctuates their signature sound.
