SPECIAL EVENTS

Remembering Japan: March 11, 2011
April 18, 2012
As part of its Arts at Bucks celebrations, Bucks County Community College is presenting a special program to raise money for the victims of last year’s earthquake and tsunami in Japan. The public is invited to attend this free event. The program will begin with a screening of a PBS-NOVA documentary about Japan’s killer quake. The hour-long film will be screened in the Fireside Lounge, located in the lower level of the Rollins Center. The documentary screening will be followed by demonstrations of Japanese music, art and crafts from 2:15pm to 4pm in the Gallagher Room, located on the upper level of Rollins. Winners of a haiku poetry contest run by Professor Christopher Bursk will be announced. Japanese crafts, including origami, will be sold to raise funds for the Red Cross for the Japanese tsunami victims.
