Building a Chair (in a Scale of 1-4 Inches)

Students will create designs that are turned into scaled drawings and then into patterns (scale 1 to 4 inches). The patterns will be transferred to balsa wood and students will carve and sand the chairs, along with preparing the joinery and finally glue and painting the chair. Many examples will be provided. No prior experience is necessary.
