Hope and frustration drive this Oscar-nominated film about an alcoholic soap opera actress who retreats to her family’s Louisiana farm after being paralyzed in an accident. There, she forges a friendship with a nurse (Alfre Woodard), whose stubbornness matches her own. This screening will be introduced by Claire Baldwin, VP of Nursing for Bryn Mawr Hospital.
Passion Fish is directed by John Sayles and stars Mary McDonnell, David Straitharn and Alfre Woodard. It is in English, rated R, runs for two hours and 15 minutes and will be shown on 35 mm.
