This spring, public art gets a lift with Public Art Pathway! Giant balloons will pop up along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway for two Saturdays in April, creating a Public Art Pathway marking the locations of 12 outdoor sculptures that include Robert Indiana’s iconic LOVE, Alexander Stirling Calder’s Shakespeare Memorial near the Free Library of Philadelphia, and Paul Manship’s Aero Memorial in Aviator Park. Public Art Ambassadors will be on hand at each stop to answer questions, demonstrate how to use the Art Association’s Museum Without Walls™: AUDIO program, and hand out kid-size balloons and Outdoor Sculpture Fun Guides to young art appreciators.

Public Art Pathway is one of four free programs included in the Fairmount Park Art Association’s Site Seeing: Rediscover Public Art This Spring! series, a month-long celebration of public art that offers residents and visitors new and unexpected ways to engage with Philadelphia’s outdoor sculpture.
