CLASSES & WORKSHOPS

Summer Theatre Camps
March 12-April 2, 2012
Storytelling Classics for ages 6 - 12:
Explore classic and modern stories from around the world and bring them to life! In each session, you will read great tales based on a common theme and learn improvisational techniques by reinventing them so they can be performed. Have fun creating a play and building props while enhancing your skills in acting, reading and writing. Ages: 6-12
Themes included "Tales on the Land," "Tales on the Sea," "Tales in the Air," and "Tales from Magical Lands." Camp is held from 9 am - 3 pm, Monday through Friday for two weeks.
Movie Camp for ages 12 - 17:
Learn what goes into making films as you study the various aspects of movie making: acting for the camera, using a video camera, writing for film, and putting together the final product. Camp culminates in the production of a collaborative film project. Camp is held from 1 pm - 4 pm, Monday through Friday for four weeks (no camp on Wednesday, July 4).
Summer Shakespeare for all ages:
Bring Shakespeare from the page to the stage in a four-week intensive camp, culminating in a fully mounted production of As You Like It. Students will also present scenes and monologues from some of the Bard's other masterpieces. Camp is held from 9 am - 1 pm, Monday through Friday for four weeks (no camp on Wednesday, July 4).
Popular Summer Musical for all ages:
Sessions will focus on all the musical theatre skills needed to mount a full production of show: singing, staging, movement, acting as well as stage crew activities (making the set & props) theatre games and choreography. The name of the show will be announced soon.
