The Night Sky
April 8, 2012
You're invited to join Franklin Institute astronomer Derrick Pitts on an exploration of the drama of the night sky, thinking particularly about how nineteenth century communities would have seen their view of nighttime change as electricity became more and more popular. Pitt’s incredible images of the starry sky above capture a mysterious vastness just as intense as the intimate magic of Tanner’s own view of nighttime scenes.
